(August 18, 2016) – HealthAlliance Foundation Executive Director Steffen T. Kraehmer has been recertified as demonstrating the highest standards of ethics, competence and service to the philanthropic sector.
Kraehmer, the foundation's leader for 16 years, earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive credential from CFRE International — a credential he has maintained since first earning it in 2004.
"The CFRE credential was created to identify for the public and employers those individuals who possess the knowledge, skills and commitment to perform fundraising duties in an effective and ethical manner," says former CFRE International Chairman Jim Caldarola. "As the certification is a voluntary achievement, the CFRE credential demonstrates a high level of commitment on the part of Steffen T. Kraehmer to himself, the fundraising profession and the donors who are served."
The HealthAlliance Foundation is committed to maintaining ethical and professional fundraising techniques to support and promote HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, a member of Westchester Medical Center Health Network. The foundation's No. 1 priority is to ensure HealthAlliance provides the highest quality healthcare by funding medical equipment, treatment advancements and training to keep hospital staff members on the cutting edge of patient care.
Kraehmer is one of more than 5,500 professionals worldwide who hold the CFRE designation. Individuals granted the credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International, which include tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement and a commitment to nonprofit service. HealthAlliance is a nonprofit healthcare system. Those who earn the designation must also pass a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills and abilities required by the international certifying board for ethical and competent fundraising management. They must also uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights.
The CFRE credential was first awarded in 1981 and is the first globally recognized credential for fundraising professionals. CFRE recipients earn their certification for a three-year period. To maintain the certification, the professionals must also demonstrate ongoing fundraising employment and fundraising results, and complete required professional education. CFRE International says employers and donors who work with a CFRE know the professional is committed to their organization's best results and has the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their fundraising objectives.
CFRE International is an independent nonprofit organization that sets high standards in philanthropic practice and certifies fundraising executives who meet and exceed those standards.
