KINGSTON, Jan. 7, 2016 — Choosing the right nursing home for a loved one will be the topic at the HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley's monthly Seniors Health & Wellness Breakfast Club at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 20.
The free breakfast club, open to the public, meets in the Community Room of the Hudson Valley Mall, 1300 Ulster Ave. in Kingston, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on the third Wednesday of every month. No RSVP is needed.
Attendees receive a delicious heart-healthy breakfast in addition to entertaining demonstrations and lively discussions with health and wellness experts.
On Jan. 20, Philip Mehl, administrator of HealthAlliance's Mountainside Residential Care Center, will talk about important things to look for in a nursing home and questions to ask.
"Making the decision to put a loved one in a nursing home is never easy," Mehl says. "And nursing-home settings can vary dramatically. But through this talk, you will get the right research tools and information, so you'll be much better equipped to find a facility that treats your loved one with respect and allows him or her to live a healthy, vibrant life."
